I'm smarter than you are

Payton has been a smarty pants tonight, and had to go to time out immediately after coming home because she screamed, cried, stomped her feet and threw her shoes because I wouldn't give her a treat when she had just eaten a big chocolate chip cookie in the car that she made at Miss Gail's house today. Then tonight when we were outside she was stomping around again, I told her she better cut the attitude and stop being so smart, she replies "Why Mommy? I'm smarter than you are"

Go Hokies!

Last Saturday we went to the Spring Game. I guess Reagan was surrounded by so much Hokie stuff she decided it was as good of a time as any to say Go Hokies! for the first time, she's been a Hokie machine since then and will say it now when you ask her. So cute!

Reagan counts to 10!

Stinks that it's sideways but still so cute!

Lewis Ginter

So I'm so glad I stopped long enough yesterday to go to the botanical garden. I realize sometimes I'm always doing something, because there's always something to be done and though I've been with Payton and Reagan I miss them because I haven't paid as much attention to them as I should have been. Like stopping and being patient enough for Reagan to go up and down the steps at the garden literally 10 times and hearing her count. I'd say 1, she'd say 2, she misses a couple in the middle but yells out 9, 10 at the end.

We climbed to the top of the treehouse, played in the little houses in the village, walked around the gardens and went in the butterfly house, though there were no butterflies in it now, we'll have to go back in the summer when the butterflies come again, Payton kept asking where the butterflies were.

We had ice cream at Baskin Robbins and when Tung came home we all helped make Chrusties for dinner. We tried bbq chicken ones and they were really good. It was fun all of us making them, Payton helped her Daddy roll out the dough and put on the cheese.

Oh to have more days where I feel relaxed, accomplished and enjoy my family like yesterday.

Baseball is back

Payton signing her name on the Inaugural season banner that will hang in the stadium the whole season

Baseball is back in Richmond and we had tickets to opening day, we had a great time...though Tung spent a little too much time in the concession line..they need to work on that a bit but overall these people know what they're doing and how to make a baseball game fun.

Saturday

Trying to talk to Reagan through the monitor

Pepper plant, Payton planted...say that 10 times fast

digging the hole

I love love love beautiful sunny Saturdays at home. It's amazing how a day at home will make me feel like a completely different person. Today I pulled out some spring clothes for the girls, put away Easter decorations. Planted veggies in the garden and some flower seeds. Stained my boards for my wall art in the living room and made super fabulous dinner. We also made a fire in the fire pit and ate smores for dessert. Well Reagan ate the chocolate pieces. We dropped one on the ground and she jumped up out of her chair and grabbed it. Too funny.

Reagan is trying to say so many more things. She knows some numbers in order. I was counting while she was walking up the steps, I said 1, she said 2. I said 3, she said 4. I sang her the ABC's and when I got done she said "Mommy, sing!" Too cute how she's starting to put together more than one word and make sense :) She fell down the steps this morning :( Tung came upstairs and found her in the reading corner, she was telling him "Read, book!" I was thinking I should block the steps off so she doesn't try to come down by herself and as soon as I think that, I hear bump bump. I have no idea how far she fell, she's fine but cried a lot and scared us to death! She's getting too brave and too big so we have to make sure to always block it off.

Can't wait for another relaxing day at home tomorrow. Payton watched Mulan this morning and we watched Aladdin last night. Tomorrow morning she wants to watch Ariel for the 100th time :)

Easter

We spent Easter at Grammy and Big Daddy's house. We had a lot of fun baking a bunny cake, dyeing and hunting Easter eggs, playing cornhole and celebrating Auntie Lori's birthday. Payton spent a lot of time picking all the beautiful flowers aka dandelions from the front yard. Big Daddy was very excited about this!

Potatoes

Tonight I used the tiller to dig up the garden, until I ran out of gas. I made a little row and Payton and I planted some potatoes. Just some red potatoes from the store that had grown eyes so we'll have to see what we get. She was so excited to plant them. She said "Mommy! When the potatoes grow, we don't have to go to the store, we can get the potatoes from our garden!" Payton wrote Potatoes on a sign so we can remember where we put our row. Reagan even dropped a potato in the row. They both turned the bath tub black afterwards they were so dirty!

Yi-Yo

This afternoon I attempted to lay Reagan down to take a nap. She cried and cried so I gave her her paci aka Yi-Yo as she calls it. An hour and 15 min. later she still was not asleep yelling Mommy! So I went in to get her out. I asked her to give me her Yi Yo, she shook her head no. So I said OK you must still want to sleep, I closed the door and went in the hallway, stood there for a minute then I went back in and said "Do you want out?" She shook her head yes. I said take out the Yi Yo and give it to me. She popped it out and handed it over.

So 5 minutes later I'm in Payton's room getting her clothes together and I don't see Reagan, I turn around and she's coming out of the bathroom struggling to hold the stool, I watch her go down the hallway carry it into her room and put it in front of her dresser, she climbs on top and stretches to reach the top of the dresser yelling Yi Yo, Yi Yo! Too cute. She was determined.
