Prayers

Tonight I said, Reagan lets say prayers. I started and she interrupted and said, No Mommy like this. "Thank you Jesus for the rain, Thank you Jesus for our food, Thank you Jesus for keeping us safe, Thank you Jesus for my house, Thank you Jesus for my Mommy's white shirt" Then she says "Is that good?" I said yes, then she gave me a kiss. Then she says "Oh and one more, Thank you Jesus for my family, and they lived Happily Ever After. The End."...I was thinking not bad for a 3 1/2 year old, until she got to Happily Ever After then I thought...hmm does she think Jesus is a Disney character? LOL

Barbie Clothes

My husband cringed when he saw how much Barbie clothes were at Target and how few were in the package, which is true, so I looked online for some different tutorials to make some for my daughter for Christmas.  Craftiness is Not Optional has some great ones that are very easy to follow, and I think my homemade ones are much better than store bought, it was a lot of fun and I think they turned out too cute!

Rocking Chair

I love that Reagan still likes to be rocked, even at almost 3 1/2 years old. Tonight she was impatient and couldn't wait until I was done with Payton so she kept yelling "Rock...Rock...Rock" until I came into her room.  I rock her and sing and she squeezes her chubby little hands underneath my arms. I love how she wraps herself all around me to rock, and tonight for the first time in weeks, our little night owl is asleep before 8:30!

Unique, Creative Reagan

Reagan is such a unique creative little girl.  She has been amazing us recently with some of the ideas she comes up with.  Last night when Tung was putting her to bed, she told him that they should make letters with their bodies, so he laid down on the ground and she laid across the top like a T. Then she wanted to make a P and she curled herself around next to him to make the loop.  I was with Payton and they came over and she wanted Payton to play too so they could make an A and a B, she had wanted to make an A with Tung and then realized she needed another person.

An hour after we had put her to bed I could still hear her upstairs, I went to check on her and she was sitting up in bed drinking down the water in her cup. I asked her what was wrong and she said she had the "hicks" as she then hiccuped! She said she had drank all her water and they wouldn't go away, so I told her to hold her breath and swallow the air, she hiccuped again, so then I poked my fingers in her sides really quick to startle her, and told her how sometimes if you get scared they will go away, she sat there a minute and looked around and said "they're gone!" Then she remembered how on the show Max and Ruby, someone scared Max with a mask and his hiccups went away.

She is a collector of everything, play food, baby clothes, you name it, she puts it all in bags and carries it around, she shoves it all behind the door in her room so you can't get it open, she even puts stuff in her closet, I was searching for these baby clothes and couldn't find them for a week, I finally open her closet and they are all inside the sleeping bag cover in the bottom.  I had a $0.60 fine on a library book because she put it inside the footstool in the living room and I couldn't find it, and a $0.40 fine on another one because she had it slide down beside her bed, she knew it was there but it was her secret hiding spot so she could read it before she went to sleep, so she didn't tell me.

She has done very well going potty the last few days and has worn underwear all day since the weekend, she doesn't want to take them off now and even slept with them on with a pull up over top, good thing too because she woke up wet.  She did make me take her to the bathroom last night twice in literally 1 minute at the restaurant, but she's going and is so proud.

♫ ♪ Baking, Baking Cookie Cookie ♪ ♫

This morning we were baking cookies and listening to music on my iPod. Payton loves to be the DJ and change the songs.  She picked Justin Bieber Baby Baby, Reagan really loves this song and knows almost all the words.  What cracked us up this morning was when she sang a verse as ♪ ♫"Baking Baking Baking Cookie Cookie"♪ ♫ at first Payton and I thought she said Bacon instead of Baking and we said Reagan we don't have any bacon! Then we realized she was singing the song as baking cookies.  So very funny that she put that to the beat of the music much less realized that it would be a funny joke to sing it silly like that.  She definitely has her own little personality, she's so silly!

IHF Autumn Splendor

The theme this week at I Heart Faces is "Autumn Splendor". I love this picture I took of my big girl who will be turning 6 in a few days, we had fun crashing the median of the subdivision across the street and playing in the leaves, she is such a special little girl and a blessing to our family and I'm so very happy I get to be her Mom!

Outfit Choices

This was Reagan's outfit choice for the day, Payton helped her pick it out, she was quite proud of it.  It sort of matched!

Reflections

I helped Payton enter artwork in the PTA Reflections contest, the theme was "Diversity, celebrating differences through the arts"  I explained to her what diversity meant and she decided to make a picture of leaves because they are all different shapes, different colors when they change in the fall and they are all pretty.  Here is her artwork.

We picked up leaves from outside and I helped her trace them onto different fabric but she cut them all out and glued them herself.  Only 7 students in the entire school did it, she was a little shy because she didn't know she would be the only one in her class, she was actually the only one in Kindergarten. They had cake cookies and lemonade and Reagan was very excited about that!
What the judges wrote about her artwork

Holding her art outside of the library, they hung it up in the front hallway of the school today and she saw it and was excited :)

The Breakfast Artist

Reagan is so funny, she likes to imagine and always makes an item into something else.  She thinks her pull ups right out of the bag look like caterpillars because they are wrinkled up from being shrink wrapped, she thinks when she goes stinky in the potty that it looks like a dinosaur! and...she put her cinnamon raisin bread she was supposed to eat for breakfast inside of a banana tent!

I Heart Faces Back to School

My oldest daughter started Kindergarten this year.  After Hurricane Irene came through, we then had a week of rain courtesy of Tropical Storm Lee, so the first day of school was very wet.  She was so very excited to get on the bus. I love this picture because the look on her face shows her emotion for the entire day.  She absolutely could not believe that she was next to get on the bus.  Her little sister wanted to get on as well, but had to settle for holding the umbrella, in the torrential downpour!

First Day of Kindergarten!

My favorite picture of the day, the look on her face says it all!
Payton was so very excited to get on the bus this morning, she was standing at the door with her backpack on at 6:45, the bus didn't come until 7:40, she was so very cute.

She packed her own lunch, baby corn, mandarin oranges or maryland oranges as she calls them, peanut butter and jelly and pudding with an apple for snack, she ate it all.

Her backpack was super wet when she came home either from her water bottle or from sitting it on the ground in the rain, not sure but I think probably the water bottle, so her folders that are supposed to go back and forth to school are no more. They didn't even survive the first day! I had to e-mail the teacher and tell her what happened and dry out all the papers I needed to sign to send back.

Getting off the bus this afternoon, just as excited as when she got on in the morning!

Reagan talks a lot

Reagan cracks me up, she talks all the time non stop. I lose track of what she's even trying to say and sometimes think she doesn't even know what she's saying.  If the girls ask Tung to do something he'll mess with them and ask them to say Please Daddy, not just please.  The other day he asked Reagan "Please who?" Instead of saying Daddy she said "Please You!"

Tonight I asked her what her favorite thing to eat is, she said the food she cooks in her own kitchen.  I asked her her favorite thing to play with, she said dress ups and her kitchen.  Then she says Guess what my favorite day of the week is? I thought she was going to do her joke when she asks "What's the sun's  best day of the week?  Sunday! but instead she says When I get to stay home with you.  If I wasn't already crying about Payton I was now with Reagan, LOL! She didn't leave Daddy and Payton out, she said she likes to stay home with Daddy and Payton too.  She's a crazy silly girl but so very sweet!

Squirrels Baseball

with Juan Perez before the game, he picked up Reag and put her on the wall for the picture

We love to go to the Flying Squirrel baseball games especially on Sundays when the girls are free for being a member of the Kids Club.  The girls even like it but of course they always want something like cotton candy or dippin dots! We went last night with VRS, they gave employees tickets and family members could buy extras at a discount. Payton stood along the field and got 4 autographs herself when the players ran out.  Juan Perez was very nice and picked up Reagan for the picture and set her back down after I took it. She didn't mind at all. It was Nutzy Garden Gnome giveaway night so we have a gnome for our garden somewhere!

Reagan the Monster

So sweet and innocent!

Yet this is what she did to the blind in her room!

Reagan is so crazy! I have no idea what prompted this but I found this one morning in her room a few weeks ago, apparently she was hungry one night and bit the window blind. One so hard she broke it, and put some good bite marks in others. What was she thinking?!

Summer Fun

Love how Reagan's feet are off the pedals and she looks so frozen stiff.

Reagan is not a good pusher, Payton almost fell off here!

I can't remember if they were moving but it doesn't look like it with Payton riding and Reagan's feet off the pedals

Ah, chubby feet and hands, love them!

Drinking the water out of the slip and slide and spitting it into the bucket, great idea Reagan!

Love this one, such a cutie.

They played in this thing Friday afternoon for over 2 hours, thanks Nannie for the slip and slide!

Enough pictures!

Pinterest Challenge

I was excited to take on the Pinterest Challenge I read about on Young House Love. I have actually made a lot of projects that I've pinned on Pinterest, I'm completely addicted and once I pin something it sort of burns a hole in my pocket until I attempt it.  Most of the projects I've completed though are sewing projects, I love to sew for my little girls or for friends that have new little babies.

Here's one Home project I've completed.
This is the Pinspiration, they used a rubber door mat as a stencil laid across two stained boards and spray painted over it for the design.

And here is my version of it. I couldn't find a door mat I loved to cover two boards at once at a price I loved as well, so I just repeated the pattern across all four. I love how it turned out and it goes very well with my living room, which you could see if I had a better picture than what I took with my touch as I flew out of the house this morning, lamenting to my husband that I forgot it was Tuesday and Pinterest Challenge Day and I couldn't wait until I got home to post!

Beach Day

Payton not wanting her picture taken

Doing what she loves to do most at the beach

Somehow we missed getting a picture of Tung so we'll feature his food, the oyster condiments

1 dozen James River oysters

Eating cookie dough ice cream on the sidewalk

Wearing milk and cookies ice cream on the sidewalk
Yesterday we went to the beach for the day, it was very relaxing and a fun mini vacation day.
