Pinterest Challenge

I was excited to take on the Pinterest Challenge I read about on Young House Love. I have actually made a lot of projects that I've pinned on Pinterest, I'm completely addicted and once I pin something it sort of burns a hole in my pocket until I attempt it.  Most of the projects I've completed though are sewing projects, I love to sew for my little girls or for friends that have new little babies.

Here's one Home project I've completed.
This is the Pinspiration, they used a rubber door mat as a stencil laid across two stained boards and spray painted over it for the design.

And here is my version of it. I couldn't find a door mat I loved to cover two boards at once at a price I loved as well, so I just repeated the pattern across all four. I love how it turned out and it goes very well with my living room, which you could see if I had a better picture than what I took with my touch as I flew out of the house this morning, lamenting to my husband that I forgot it was Tuesday and Pinterest Challenge Day and I couldn't wait until I got home to post!

Beach Day

Yesterday we went to the beach for the day, it was very relaxing and a fun mini vacation day. 

Reagan goes to the Dentist

Last Monday July 11th Reagan went with me to the dentist for the first time. She was so excited that she couldn't wait until they were done with me, she kept asking the hygenist if she was done yet, because she wanted to get in the chair! They took her down the hall to the kids room with fish.  She picked a fish napkin because she wanted it to match the wall.

She let them count her teeth she has 20, clean her teeth and she loved the sucker most of all, the way she described to me how "Mr. Thirsty, swished around her mouth and then she closed her mouth and it felt funny" was so very funny.  Christina that cleaned her teeth did a very good job with her.  She even let them paint the flouride on and then used a cup to swish and spit the water back out.  She's such a big girl!

As soon as the light was on her face, she opened her mouth, she learned quick!

Last Sunday we went to Pony Pasture Rapids Park on the James River, tons of people go here, it's very popular because you can wade out to very large flat rocks and spread out in the sun.  People also like to use floats and go down the rapids, I'm a totally scared of the river but it is very shallow on the edge and it was below 5 feet so it wasn't moving very fast.  We stayed where it didn't go above your ankles. It's crazy to watch everyone float down it in the tubes though out in the middle, it takes you quicker than you think it would so I was totally happy wading on the edge in the stagnant water :)  It was not too hot, not crowded, a pretty day to go.

We stayed a couple of hours and went and had lunch, everyone was so tired afterwards, we all came home and napped!

Milk

Reagan was drinking her milk in the car yesterday morning.  She says "Mommy, I'm going to drink my milk all up, it's going to go all the way down to my toes and help me grow big and strong." She then proceeds to show me her muscles with both arms "See, like this, I like when you do your arms like this when you're strong"
